DEPRESSION AND LOW MOOD THERAPY IN VANCOUVER, BC

you’re not broken. just tired in a very human way.

Depression can feel like your world has gone quiet.

Not dramatic sadness, but a slow dimming, where everything feels heavier and takes more effort than it used to. Maybe you’ve gone numb. Maybe you’re exhausted from holding it together. Maybe you just don’t feel like yourself anymore.

Often, depression isn’t a personal failure, but rather a nervous system doing its best to protect you by shutting things down after being overwhelmed for too long. Beneath the exhaustion, there are usually unspoken emotions, unmet needs, and protective patterns that once made sense, even if they’re now keeping you stuck.

In therapy, we move gently.

  • We take time to understand the parts of you that feel hopeless, the ones that shut down, and the ones that push you to keep going no matter the cost. We also pay attention to the emotions underneath (like grief, anger, and sadness) creating space for them to be felt safely rather than avoided. When emotions are met with compassion instead of judgment, they begin to shift.

  • We explore how your thoughts, habits, and expectations may be narrowing your world. Together, we gently loosen unhelpful patterns, clarify what truly matters to you, and support small, values-aligned steps, not to force happiness, but to make life feel more livable and meaningful again.

  • We also work somatically, reconnecting you with subtle cues of safety, energy, and presence in your body. No forced positivity. No pressure to “snap out of it.” Just steady, respectful reconnection at your pace.

Together, we may explore:

❊ what your low mood has been trying to protect you from

❊ how shutdown, numbness, or emotional distance developed

❊ what your exhausted parts and emotions need right now

❊ how to rebuild energy, meaning, and self-worth

❊ how to create a life that feels supportive, not more demanding

The goal isn’t to fix you, because you’re not broken. It’s to help you find your way back to yourself, by making space for every part of you that’s been doing its best to cope.
